How to manage banners in Joomla 1.5

The banners component allows you to display random images on your Joomla site. This is especially useful for ads.

To begin, please go to Joomla back-end via this url: “your_site/administrator” (e.g:http://joomquery.com/administrator/)

• Click Components, and then go to Banners, then Categories
• We first need to create a category for our banners
• Scroll right. Click [New]. Enter a Title. Click [Save]
• Now we’ll add a client
• Go to the Clients tab. Scroll right. Click [New]. Enter the name of the business, organization, or individual that this banner will represent. Enter the name that is the main point of contact for the business. Type the contact’s email address. Click [Save]
• Let’s create the banner now
• Click Banners. Scroll right. Click [New]. Enter a name for the banner. Select the category this banner belongs to. Choose the client. Type the URL the user will be directed to when they click the banner. Scroll down. Choose the image that will be displayed
• Enter the width and height. Scroll up. Click [Save]
• Now we need to create a module to display our banner on the font-end
• Go to the Module Manager. Scroll right. Click [New]. Select Banner
• Click [Next]. Enter a Title. Select the client and category we created. Click [Save]
• Let’s view the banner on our Joomla site
• The banner is displayed here
